  • BUILDING CLASSES
How do we approach  design of various building classes or types?  Should we stick to one type or specialize? Is this necessary? Is this feasible?
In AFA Inc. world any building type can be designed; if not too up to date
on a certain bldg. type it can be researched–such as a hospital. Although
there is sufficient knowledge on the bldg. class.

Alexis Felix recalls as a graduate student at Pratt Inst. in New York the professor/architect had designed a couple hospitals (Bellevue and Kings County Hospitals) . Did he have any specific training for hospital design per se. I don’t think so.

  • ALL BUILDINGS CAN BE DESIGNED HERE EXCEPT ICE HOTELS
    WHICH WE STAY AWAY FROM!!

    • HURRICANE RESPONSE (EARTHQUAKES   NOT FORGOTTEN)
    •  In January 2107 I (Alexis Felix) made designing to mitigate  hurricane force winds  a priority.  Various forms and details  that can minimize uplift is being considered more than ever such as domes, shells, tensile tent structures, etc.
